CANADA: A New Holiday-Themed Pop-Up Bar, The Return of Music Festivals, Beer Con Is Back In Person and More

CALGARY: The Tipsy Elf, the first holiday-themed pop-up at Calgary’s Fairmont Palliser, recently opened. In the festive space, guests can enjoy themed cocktails and holiday music while surrounded by seasonal decor. This new experience, which debuted on Nov. 27, will run until Dec. 30 and is open for walk-ins or private events with light snacks.

TORONTO: The Boots and Hearts Music Festival will return in August 2022 with Shania Twain as the headliner. Other musical performances include Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line, and the event will be held at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte. This is one of Canada's largest camping and country music festivals; tickets are available now. 

After a two-year hiatus, the Solaris Music Festival will return from Dec. 26-27 for a two-night rave experience. This year, the festival will be held at Rebel and is for guests 19 years or older. Zedd and Alesso will be the headlining performers, and tickets are $175 for both days of general admission. 

VANCOUVER: The VanDusen Festival of Lights is officially open for the season. The festival is held within the 15-acre VanDusen Garden and will run until Jan. 3. Some highlighted stops include Grotto A Glow, Illuminated Stream, PrisMagic Maples and more. There will also be five different food and beverage areas in the garden for guests to enjoy donuts, fondue, mulled wine and more. Tickets are available to purchase online and cost $17.50. 

BC Beer Con will return in person at the Anvil Center in New Westminster from Feb. 3-4. The weekend is divided into three themes: brewing, sales and marketing, and operations and finance. BC Craft Brewers Guild, Great Little Box Company and Ideon Packaging will be presenting the convention, and a speaker lineup will be announced soon.
