NATIONAL: The National Ocean Wise Seafood Festival, a Canada-wide celebration of sustainable seafood, is taking place Feb. 1-28. Nonprofit Ocean Wise Seafood is teaming up with more than 400 restaurants, grocery stores and seafood suppliers to serve dishes whose proceeds help in the fight against overfishing. 

CALGARY: Think Spring!, the Calgary Horticultural Society’s biggest annual event, will take place Feb. 5-6. The event, which aims to help and inspire gardeners at the very beginning of growing season, will feature two days of presentations, an online marketplace, a photo contest, a raffle, prizes and more.

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO: The Scotiabank Convention Centre has announced a name change to kick off 2022: the Niagara Falls Convention Centre (NFCC). The purpose of the new name is to honor the event space's adjacent location to Niagara Falls. Opened in 2011, the NFCC is the Niagara region’s largest event space with more than 300,000 square feet of flexible event space that can accommodate as many as 6,750.

TORONTO: International tech conference Collision will return to an in-person event this year, its first since 2019. The event will be held in Toronto from June 20-23. The conference, often nicknamed the “Olympics of Tech,” typically draws more than 30,000 people.

VANCOUVER: Cocktail Connoisseur is hosting an immersive dining and cocktails event on Feb. 12 called "Moulin Rouge, A Valentine’s Experience." Gastown’s historic Millennium Building will be transformed into a Parisian cabaret for an art and dining experience. Guests will be treated to a five-course dinner curated by Oui Chef YVR, featuring bufala and heirlooms, sweet corn veloutĂ©, duck terrine and pork tenderloin.
