CALGARY: The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival will be held this weekend at Prince’s Island Park in Calgary from June 24-26. Tickets are available online through Tixr. Prices range form $49-$199, and $2 from every ticket sold will be donated to The Kinkonauts Scholarship Program, which provides funding for improv classes to underrepresented communities.
EDMONTON: New restaurant Sammies by Sodo opened on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton. The concept comes from the team behind the popular Sodo Bar that also recently launched in Edmonton. Sammies by Sodo offers eight different sandwiches, as well as salads and sides. Pick-up and delivery are also available.
TORONTO: The Toronto Festival of Beer, presented by the Beer Store, will take place July 22-24 for the 25th year in a row. Musical performances include NAS, Sam Roberts Band, The Strumbellas, and The Revivalists with Matt Mays. Over 400 different brews from all over the world will be available for guests to enjoy. The festival will take place at Bandshell Park's Exhibition Place, and attendees must be 19 or older. Tickets are available online, and prices range from $65-$150 plus fees.
Halo Top, a global leader in frozen desserts and treats, will tour around Ontario this June through September. The branded, brightly colored Scoop Truck will make stops at different major festivals and events, including the Tall Pines Music & Arts Festival and Burlington Sound of Music.
VANCOUVER: The 33rd annual Bard on the Beach festival will take place June 8-Sept. 24 and return in-person for the first time since 2019. Bard on the Beach is a world-famous Shakespearean theatre festival that takes place in Vanier Park in Vancouver. Throughout the summer, festivalgoers can enjoy three plays—A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Harlem Duet, and Romeo and Juliet—as well as special events including Opera & Arias concerts, fireworks, a Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performance, and more.
