FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA.: Brazilian steakhouse chain Fogo de Chão officially opens its first location in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Friday, Aug. 19. The restaurant will be located in The Main Las Olas, a 1.4 million-square-foot mixed-use office, residential, and retail community for gathering, dining, and shopping. As the brand’s newest location, Fogo Las Olas will present the culinary art of churrasco, allowing guests to watch gaucho chefs butcher, prepare, and grill different cuts of protein over an open flame within an expansive 226-seat dining room. The new location will also feature a large covered outdoor patio and bar area for alfresco dining. There are also private dining spaces ideal for intimate gatherings or larger celebratory events.
MAUI, H.I.: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has launched the Pre-Wedding in the Palace Package, a brand-new co-ed bachelor/bachelorette offer. Cap’n Crunch is livening up workers’ morning routines with the Cap’n’s Commute, a branded ferry experience developed in response to the increasing number of people returning to the office. ST. LOUIS: Explore St. Louis, the official destination marketing organization of St. Louis City and County, has announced the hiring of David Duncan as chief sales officer. He started in the role on July 18. Most recently, Duncan held the title of director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown, where he oversaw 40,000 square feet of function space and became a board member for the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. At Explore St. Louis, Duncan will help the destination attract meetings and conventions, in addition to focusing efforts on positioning AC Next Gen, the expansion and enhancement of America’s Center, as a top-tier facility for national-level gatherings.
