MAUI, H.I.: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, located on 40 tropically landscaped oceanfront acres along a three-mile stretch of the famed Ka’anapali Beach, has announced the appointment of Jason Baer as director of sales and marketing. With over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, he will oversee sales and marketing efforts to continue the success of the Hyatt Regency Maui. Prior to joining the resort, Baer worked with various Hyatt properties throughout the West Coast in a variety of sales leadership positions.
NEW YORK: Hulu plans to bring its hit show Only Murders in the Building to life on Aug. 19 and 20 at The Prince George Ballroom in NYC. The pop-up activation will showcase an art gallery—just like the one run by Alice (Cara Delevingne) in season two—filled with twists and turns, secret passageways, hidden galleries, Easter eggs, and more. Guests will even get to work on Mabel (Selena Gomez)'s mural with Gomez's Rare Beauty brand. Beyond the gallery, fans can also see an artistic version of The Arconia and dive deeper into the story as they try and find out who killed Bunny, all while posing for fun photo ops along the way.
ORLANDO: Tickets are now on sale for the 20th annual Global Peace Film Festival (GPFF). It will once again employ a hybrid format to deliver a robust program of thought-provoking films and art exhibits to people all over the world. Running Sept. 19-25, the festival will present a selection of feature length and short films in person at locations in Orlando and Winter Park, Fla. These films highlight themes such as civil rights, environmental justice, ethics, human rights, immigration, LGBTQ+, music, social justice, voting, wellness, and wildlife. By design, GPFF is programmed to intersect with the International Day of Peace (United Nations), Sept. 21.
PHOENIX: Visit Phoenix has announced that Lorne Edwards, senior vice president of sales and services, has been named chief sales officer effective immediately. Lorne Edwards joined the Visit Phoenix team in 2012 as the director of sales and has been an integral part of the leadership team. Edwards oversees the Convention Sales, Destination Services and Travel Industry Sales departments. Under his leadership, the Visit Phoenix sales teams have consistently met or exceeded production goals and introduced innovative programs and business development strategies.
