US: F1 Austin’s Kickoff Celebration, a Halloween Pop-Up Bar in Chicago, a Nebraska Steakhouse’s Fall Offerings, and More

GLOBAL: U.K.-based experiential agency Sledge has announced Sophie Bowtell as its newest project manager. Bowtell will be responsible for working in close collaboration with her colleagues and the agency’s clients to plan and execute a wide range of experiences across the globe, including corporate, consumer, and nonprofit. The industry veteran brings seven-plus years of experience to the position, most recently working at the British Pharmacological Society.

AUSTIN, TEXAS: The iconic Bootsy Bellows x Sports Illustrated Circuit Series After Party is returning to F1 Austin for its second year Oct. 21-22. The two-day event will kick off the city’s 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Austin American-Statesman. Oct. 21 will feature performances by The Kid LAROI and Zedd, while Oct. 22 will be headlined by Post Malone with a DJ set by Zack Bia. Both events will be produced by Uncommon Entertainment.

CHICAGO: The Black Lagoon pop-up bar opened at The Dandy Crown in North Milwaukee on Oct. 3 and will run through Halloween. Guests can expect an immersive, Halloween-themed experience with homages to the macabre and elements of goth and metal that’s sure to creep them out. Fittingly named beverages will be served—including the Screaming Banshee, Closed Casket, and Hellraiser—and thematic food options are available via a menu helmed by executive chef Mark Hill. The concept is the brainchild of hospitality industry veterans Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage and is also popping up in Denver, Portland, and cities across Canada.

NEW YORK: Hilton has announced the appointment of Mark Sanders as general manager of the New York Hilton Midtown. In the new role, Sanders will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 1,878-room property, which also boasts the largest ballroom in the Big Apple. He joins the New York Hilton Midtown from Highgate Hotels & Resorts, where he served as managing director and led hotel operations for The Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, an IHG hotel.

OMAHA, NEB.: The Committee Chophouse, a modern steakhouse located in the Kimpton Cottonwood hotel in the heart of Omaha’s Blackstone District, is celebrating fall with a plethora of seasonal programming. Take the seasonal lunch menu, for example, which will be offered for the first time this November, as well as an exclusive Fall Harvest Dinner that will take place later this month with proceeds benefiting No Kids Hungry, holiday pies crafted by pastry chef Leah Meyer, and more.
