US: A New Hyatt Centric Outpost in Austin, Las Vegas Gears Up for the Super Bowl, Philly DMOs Join Forces, and More

AUSTIN, TEXAS: The highly anticipated Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin has officially opened in the heart of the city's downtown area. The 31-story, 246-room hotel marks the second Hyatt Centric property in Texas. The new property is also home to restaurant Luminaire and bar Las Bis, helmed by chef Steve McHugh. The hotel’s third floor is dedicated to 2,560 square feet of event space featuring hardwood floors, state-of-the-art technology, and floor-to-ceiling windows. An additional 1,400 square feet of event space can be found on the hotel’s 31st-floor penthouse, named the “Artist Residence,” which doubles as a space for private functions.

DALLAS:  The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas has announced the appointment of Brian Booth as director of sales and marketing, where he will develop and implement sales initiatives and marketing strategies to support the luxury property’s continued growth. Booth joins The Ritz-Carlton team with more than 20 years of industry experience in sales, marketing, and operations, and spent a number of years with the Hyatt Corporation.

LAS VEGAS: Sin City is gearing up for Super Bowl LVII. On Sunday, Feb. 12, football fans can celebrate at six watch events taking place at Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas, and Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. Circa has four events on its slate, including a VIP viewing at its sportsbook; and with various seating options, Downtown Las Vegas Events Center will offer a massive screen boasting stadium sound and two 22-foot LED screens displaying the game on both sides

NEW YORK:  The Group Hospitality—behind La Grande Boucherie in Manhattan—has welcomed Maxime Kien to the team as the new corporate executive chef to oversee all restaurants under The Group’s umbrella of restaurants in New York City (with more to open in the U.S. soon), specifically for the culinary direction and integrity of the restaurant concept. His vision is to celebrate simple yet elegant traditional French food and act as a great ambassador to the culinary heritage of France. He plans to revisit French classics and bring new sensations to the NYC culinary scene.

PHILADELPHIA: The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and Visit Philadelphia announced that they've launched their first-ever joint destination marketing campaign, “Come for Philadelphia. Stay for Philly.” The lighthearted campaign aims to put the city’s confidence and attitude at the forefront as it aims to drive visitation to the region across all travel segments in 2023 and in the lead up to 2026, when the city will host major activities around America250, the FIFA World Cup, and the MLB All-Star Game.
