BANFF: The San Gorgonio Wilderness Association (SGWA) is hosting the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, which will be screening at Redlands’ Fox Event Center Feb. 24-25. Tickets are $30, doors open at 6 p.m., and the first screening will begin at 6:30 p.m. each night. Guests can expect films centered around adventure and nature, including migrating polar bears, bicycle racers, expeditions through the Arctic Circle, and more. A full film lineup is available on SGWA’s website. Tickets are available online or at the door.

EDMONTON: The Sweet Treats & Latte Festival has returned to Old Strathcona and is running now through Feb. 20. As the month-long event’s name implies, the fest celebrates the Edmonton neighborhood’s sweet treats, with goodies from 17 local shops, bakeries, and restaurants on offer. Guests can indulge in baked goods, ice cream, hot cocoa, and even edible art installations from the likes of Hexagon Cafe, Cafe Bel Air, and Sheng’s Tea, just to name a few. A list of participating businesses, plus an interactive map to plan your sweet tour, is available on Old Strathcona’s website.

TORONTO: Canadian Blood Services is hosting a three-day pop-up event at a barbershop at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga. During the free event, guests are invited to get a free haircut and beard trim. The goal is to encourage males aged 17-35 to register to become stem cell donors since this demographic generally produces more stem cells. The barber shop will be open to the public Feb. 11 from noon-9 p.m.; Feb. 12 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Feb. 13 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

VANCOUVER: FlyOver Canada, a tech-forward ride that gives participants a feeling of flight, is featuring Soar Over Taiwan now through Feb. 12. The immersive ride highlights Taiwan’s most famous sites, events, foods, and more. Guests can expect to fly over Green Island’s waters, above the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks Festival, through tea farms, and into the heart of Taipei. Before each ride, a Lunar New Year-themed pre-show is on offer, and after the ride, attendees can indulge in Taiwan-inspired fare (think: barbecue pork buns, egg tarts, and bubble tea) at the Flying Whale Waterfront Cafe. Tickets to Soar Over Taiwan are available on FlyOver Canada’s website and start at $28.

The Mansion Nightclub at Paradox Hotel Vancouver is hosting a Super Bowl Sunday watch party on Feb. 12, starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are available via Eventbrite for $33.28, and guests can expect an all-you-can-eat game-day inspired menu—including chicken wings, brisket sliders, loaded nachos, and a build-your-own hot dog station—as well as bottle service and door prizes. Of course, Super Bowl LVII will be playing on Mansion’s oversized LED screen, which is 35 feet wide and 12 feet tall.
