US: The Abbey Resort's Renovations, Miami's Taste at the Track, CityPickle Is Coming to Central Park, and More

GLOBAL: Hilton announced the opening of the 225-room Hilton Monterrey. Located in the business and financial district of Nuevo LeĂłn in Mexico, the hotel is connected to the GalerĂ­as Valle Oriente Mall and is a short distance from other popular sites, including the Mexican History Museum and Paseo Santa LucĂ­a. The property boasts eight meeting spaces—including an outdoor terrace and the Magnolia Ballroom, which can hold up to 600 guests—that span a total of 12,000 square feet. Hilton Monterrey also offers on-site catering support for meetings and events, plus three on-site dining experiences that include the hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge, Wander, and Härth, the hotel’s farm-to-table seasonal restaurant that's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 

FONTANA, WIS.: Lake Geneva’s lakeside resort, The Abbey Resort, announced the completion of its multi-year, multimillion dollar renovation. Located 75 miles from downtown Chicago, the 90-acre property now boasts entire room upgrades to its 300 guest rooms, meeting and event spaces, and common areas. The revamp included upgrades to the property's furniture, window treatments, lighting, mattresses and bedding, electronics, carpets, and more. Additionally, its 35,000-square-foot Avani Spa now has 16 luxury treatment rooms, couples’ suites, steam and sauna rooms, an adult-only pool, salt and infrared relaxation rooms—with one solely dedicated to women as well as other women-only spaces—and a brighter, renovated fitness center. The resort’s reno also includes the introduction of a new executive chef, Luis Quezada, who now heads 240 West, the resort’s farm-to-fork restaurant.

LAS VEGAS: ARIA Resort & Casino is bringing Château de Beaucastel to host a one-night-only wine pairing dinner in collaboration with chef Michael Mina at his French restaurant, Bardot Brasserie, on April 5 at 7 p.m. Alan Gary and Charles Butler of wine importer Vineyard Brands will guide guests through the wine tasting as chef Mina complements the wines with his multi-course menu. Tickets are $450 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

MIAMI: Gulfstream Park is hosting “Taste at the Track,” a wine-and-dine-themed tasting event on April 1, from 1-4 p.m. The event will take place in the third-floor Flamingo room overlooking the horse-racing track, and will feature all-you-can-eat food and drinks stations. Guests are welcome to remain in the Flamingo room following the tasting to watch the Florida Derby at 6:45 p.m. General admission tickets are $125 per person, and VIP tickets are $175 per person, which includes early access to the event at noon.

NEW YORK: CityPickle and Wollman Park Partners announced that Pickleball is coming to Wollman Rink in Central Park, from April 7-Oct. 9. Pickleball, which combines elements of tennis, badminton, and pingpong, is a sport that can be played by people of nearly all ages and abilities. The installation will include 14 courts open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Court rental costs $80 or $120 per hour for off-peak or peak hours, respectively. CityPickle also has paddles available for rent at $6 per paddle. Players can begin making reservations on March 31.
