CANADA: Eurêka! Festival, Toronto Pearson's Passenger Experience Improvements, Bakery Showcase, and More

GLOBAL: Global hospitality company Convene announced that it's opening a 45,000-square-foot meetings and events venue at Sancroft, St. Pauls in the City of London. The space will include a 900-person plenary room as well as six other unique meeting spaces that can hold a total capacity of 1,200 people. Convene, which designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible office spaces, hopes to open this new space in Q1 of 2024.

MONTREAL: L'île du savoir, in collaboration with Espace pour la vie, invites eventgoers to Parc Jean-Drapeau for the Eurêka! Festival. This year's theme for the big science celebration at the foot of the Biosphère is "energy." The event will feature more than 100 free activities. Highlights this year include Osedea and SPOT the robot dog from Boston Dynamics meeting the public on-site, and Esteban presenting the first two-seater solar vehicle in Quebec.

TORONTO: As the summer travel rush kicks in, Toronto Pearson International Airport this week announced that it will roll out new improvements to the passenger experience. All are in an effort to enhance efficiency and cleanliness and create a positive passenger experience. Passengers can expect more self-service infrastructure, digital mapping, an upgraded baggage system, and bolstered staffing.

Little Canada, Toronto's renowned miniature attraction, is expanding. On May 19, Little Canada will open Little East Coast, showcasing historical and cultural features and landmarks from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. A year in the making, Little East Coast will be the first full destination to be installed in Little Canada since the attraction opened in August 2021.

VANCOUVER: Thousands of industry professionals from bakeries (retail, wholesale, commercial, in-store), grocery, pizzerias, restaurants, and food-service outlets will descend on the Vancouver Convention Centre May 14-15 for the Bakery Showcase trade show and conference. The event includes relevant education sessions, a trade show floor full of bakery-focused exhibitors, demonstrations, and Canadian Pizza Summit stages (which showcase the annual Canadian Pizza Chef of the Year Competition).
