CANADA: Heritage Park's Festival of Quilts, Nonstop Flights Between Paris and Ottawa, Toronto's Spice Food & Wine Festival, and More

GLOBAL: Nobu Hospitality—the luxury lifestyle brand founded by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper—has announced its expansion into Portugal, marking another milestone in the company's global expansion strategy. The first Nobu Hotel and Restaurant in Portugal will be situated in the heart of Lisbon, on the famed Avenida da Liberdade.

CALGARY: Dubbed "the most colorful weekend of the year," Heritage Park's Festival of Quilts returns to the Historical Village from May 27-28. For two days, the village is draped in patchwork as hundreds of presenters show off their handiwork. Eventgoers can enjoy workshops with special guest instructor Brandy Maslowski, take part in the popular trunk show, and participate in a raffle throughout the weekend.

OTTAWA: Nonstop flight service between Paris and Ottawa, operated by Air France, will begin June 27. The new route is expected to drive increased business events from Europe to the Canadian capital. Air France's new route will offer five weekly nonstop flights on Airbus A330-200s between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Ottawa International Airport. The new routes will be a core part of the Ottawa Tourism focus at this year’s IMEX in Frankfurt from May 23-25.

Laurier House National Historic Site is now open for the 2023 summer visitor season. This year, the attraction will offer enhanced guided heritage tours, participate in Ottawa's Doors Open event, and offer Canada Day programming. Here, visitors can learn more about the home and lives of two of Canada's longest-serving prime ministers: Sir Wilfrid Laurier and William Lyon Mackenzie King.

TORONTO: Billed as Canada’s first outdoor ethnic food and wine festival, Spice Food & Wine Festival will take place June 3 at the Stanley Barracks Gardens at Hotel X Toronto. The event will bring 30 ethnic food vendors, wineries, and wine importers together in an open-air environment. A DJ will be on-site to spin tracks while festivalgoers try the tasty cuisines. Tickets start at $16.
