NATIONAL: Sunwing Vacations, a tour operator in Canada, unveiled its new winter campaign and commercial, which challenges travelers to think about their getaways in a different light. This year's humorous and relatable commercial spot taps into the distinct personas that emerge when Canadians embark on their well-deserved getaways, from the "sunscreen denier" to the "treetop skimmer." Canadians are invited to uncover their own vacation personas in Sunwing's latest "Save More, Do More" creative commercial.

HALIFAX: Discover Halifax is taking on new responsibilities and expanding its team to include a focus on the strategic planning of tourism-related developments in the region, as well as a team that works closely with regional event bidding activities and rights holders to improve the overall system for festivals and events. The organization's new hires include Brian White, in the new role of vice president of destination development, and Mark Teeple, in the new role of vice president of festivals and events. 

MONTREAL: For its fourth edition, Researchers' Night will roll out the red carpet in front of the iconic Biosphère and turn the venue into an "international summit." On Nov. 10, Montreal Space for Life invites visitors to assume the role of "delegate" and seize the opportunity to personally meet hundreds of researchers from fields as diverse as biology, health, community science, social sciences, and astronomy.

TORONTO: Turo, a peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace in Canada, unveiled the launch of Drive to Table, a partnership with the Michelin Guide to deliver an exclusive travel and culinary experience specially designed by 2023 Michelin-starred restaurants in Toronto and Vancouver. Starting Oct. 13, Turo guests who book one of the participating vehicles—which were hand-picked by chefs themselves—on Saturdays between Oct. 28 and Dec. 16 will have access to special dining experiences at Osteria Giulia and Quetzal in Toronto and at Kissa Tanto and St. Lawrence in Vancouver.

VANCOUVER: Virtuoso, a global network specializing in luxury and experiential travel, hosted its annual Canada Forum at the DOUGLAS hotel in Vancouver Oct. 4-5, where 48 of the network's regional travel agency owners and managers gathered to connect and collaborate. During the event, the company revealed data and insights that identified when, where, and how upscale Canadian travelers will be venturing during the 2023 festive season and into 2024.
