GLOBAL: Hilton announced the opening of the 225-room Hilton Monterrey. Located in the business and financial district of Nuevo LeĂłn in Mexico, the hotel is connected to the GalerĂas Valle Oriente Mall and is a short distance from other popular sites, including the Mexican History Museum and Paseo Santa LucĂa. The property boasts eight meeting spaces—including an outdoor terrace and the Magnolia Ballroom, which can hold up to 600 guests—that span a total of 12,000 square feet. Hilton Monterrey also offers on-site catering support for meetings and events, plus three on-site dining experiences that include the hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge, Wander, and Härth, the hotel’s farm-to-table seasonal restaurant that's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
BANFF: Banff & Lake Louise Tourism announced its Community Impact Program, a new initiative to aid in improving long-term economic and social sustainability. It has partnered with Banff Canmore Community Foundation to help business event delegates connect with Banff and Lake Louise to make a positive difference in the local community. The program provides visitors and business event delegates with a prepaid credit card that they can use at the destination. Cardholders can use it to purchase goods and services at many hotels, restaurants, and shops in Banff and Lake Louise. The card will remain valid for nine months from the start of the program to allow for users to have flexibility. The program welcomes any group to participate.
MISSISSAUGA: Indigenous Tourism Ontario was present at the 2023 Little Native Hockey League tournament, hosted by Nipissing First Nation, to launch the inaugural ITO All Stars Cup. The off-ice competition aimed to generate interest in First Nation’s youth in the tourism industry with immersive activities, including culinary workshops, elements of virtual reality, archery lessons, and more.
MONTREAL: The Palais des congrès de Montréal, in collaboration with the Alliance de l'industrie touristique du Québec, developed three informal networking spaces under the mandate from the Québec Ministry of Tourism. The spaces, designed to simulate the tourism experiences unique to the province, invite guests to relax, chat, and network.
TORONTO: The Unblock unConference, organized by Quell, held its two-day event on March 28 and 29. The unConference focused on education, advocacy, and networking with keynote speakers, including director, photographer, and creative Justin Wu, general manager of DoorDash Canada Shilpa Arora, CEO of T&T Supermarket Tina Lee, and more.
