As CEO, my role involves overseeing all operations of the company and the projects/services for our clients, including membership recruitment, retention & engagement, sponsorship, and events. We also run our own event, the Engaging Associations Forum, which is in its fifth year. The event aims to be a resource for innovation and change in the association sector. How I got here: I worked for my predecessors at Greenfield Services for more than 10 years and became their “business daughter.” When they decided that they wanted to move on and start another business, I was presented with the amazing opportunity to buy them out. I took over as CEO as of November 1, 2016. Greatest career accomplishment: Creating the Engaging Associations Forum was by far my greatest achievement. It was a passion project, and I am thrilled association community embraced it. Watching participants embrace real conversations, valued interaction with select partners and want to push the sector forward each and every year brings tears of pride to my eyes. Impressive stats: The Engaging Associations Forum started in 2014 with 74 attendees. At that time, a goal was set that the event should never get larger than 150 people, so that our original intentions of meaningful discussions on change could continue to be realized. In 2016, we hit that target, and have not looked back since. What I’m working on now: We celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Engaging Associations Forum this July, and now I am looking forward and researching the feasibility to hosting this event in multiple locations. In addition, I am also preparing to launch a year-round online learning and engagement community for association executives, bringing the format and purpose of the Engaging Associations Forum to as many executives as possible. What I do outside of work: My favorite pastime is taking a drive and exploring the countryside with my husband. We always find something cool and make memories!
