This week's roundup includes art installations at the convention center in Montreal; modern lighting at Bvlgari’s warehouse party in Brooklyn; heart-shaped pizzas at Bumble’s Valentine’s Day event in Santa Monica; and interactive displays at Justin Bieber’s album release party in Los Angeles.
Palais Seasons
Palais des Congrès de Montréal and Massivart have joined forces to launch the Palais Seasons, a series of art installation projects at the convention center. The initiative kicks off this month and runs throughout the year. The highlight of the program is “Thresholds” by local artist Michel de Broin. Comprised of a series of Montréal subway car doors, the art installation forms a path for people to follow.

Palais Seasons
As part of the seasonal programming, this month visitors can watch romantic movies in the convention center’s lounge, and in exchange for a donation to the Old Brewery Mission, they can also write love notes on a ribbon and hang them from a communal arch.

Justin Bieber’s Album Release Party
On February 14, Spotify’s “House of Changes” experience transformed a Los Angeles skate park into a maze of immersive zones that told the story of Justin Bieber’s new album, Changes. Fans were able to customize T-shirts using decals designed by visual artist Gianpiero D’Alessandro and were able to share their intentions on a visual display. Bieber made a surprise visit and took part in an impromptu skate session.

Salvador Dalí-Inspired Birthday Party
For a recent 60th-birthday surprise party, Marc Friedland, owner of Marc Friedland Couture Communications, took inspiration from his client’s Salvador Dalí painting, creating a surrealist, Dalí-inspired party. The over-the-top event, which took place last fall at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles, had three acts—a cocktail party, a 160-seat dinner, and an after-party. Friedland also worked with executive producer Matthew David Hopkins of 360 Design Events on the party. See more:
