One of North America’s premier automotive exhibitions, the Vancouver International Auto Show is owned and operated by the New Car Dealers Association of B.C. 2. BC Home & Garden Show

The BC Home & Garden Show at BC Place Stadium is a favorite with local design enthusiasts and green thumbs. A post-show report indicated the 2019 edition recorded a 13 percent increase in attendance and that 73 percent of attendees had a project in mind. Celebrity speakers included crowd favorite Bryan Baeumler, gardening guru Carson Arthur of Home to Win, and Mickey Fabbiano and Sebastian Sevallo from Worst to First. Long-standing presentations include a cooking stage, garden stage, and feature gardens. Next: February 19-23, 2020

3. FanExpo Vancouver

Fan Expo Vancouver at the Vancouver Convention Centre includes exhibits, vendors, and attendees who celebrate science fiction, comic books, film, television, horror, fantasy, and animation. Owned by Fan Expo HQ, in 2019 the three-day expo featured attractions such as a costume contest, celebrity photo ops, and creator spotlights featuring some of the world’s biggest comic book creators. Celebrity guests included the likes of George Takei of Star Trek fame, Khary Payton known for The Walking Dead and Teen Titans Go!, and Tom Cavanagh from The Flash. Next: February 15-17, 2020

4. Circle Craft Market

When Vancouverites are looking for out-of-the-ordinary gifts that are made and sold by the artists themselves, the Circle Craft Christmas Market is a must-shop destination. Established in 1972, Circle Craft is a BC Cooperative and is sustained by commission on sales and participation fees. Drawing some 40,000 people, the market is held each November at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Next: November 7-11, 2019

5. Interior Design Show

Interior Design Show Vancouver attracts consumers along with the industry’s professionals attending its trade day programming. Produced by Informa Markets, 38,500 design savvy attendees were recorded at the 2018 show. Held in the Vancouver Convention Centre West Building, the show is entering its 15th year and is considered the premier showcase of the interior design industry in the city. The show’s theme for 2019, Design DNA, saw a range of programming including a foray into food with exhibits and speakers focusing on the future of food. Next: September 26-29, 2019

6. Vancouver Fall Home & Design Show

The Vancouver Fall Home Show has been a staple in consumers’ calendars since 1971, attracting more than 50,000 visitors each winter. Produced by Marketplace Events, this year the show features Bryan Baeumler, host of TV shows including Island of Bryan, as one of the celebrity guest speakers. He will be joined by other industry personalities and exhibits and events showing the latest home, garden, and lifestyle trends. Next: October 24-27, 2019

7. BC Sportsmen's Show

The BC Sportsmen’s Show is a long-running annual event for the region’s outdoor lovers. Produced by Master Promotions, the show marks its 29th edition in 2020. With hundreds of exhibitors there’s plenty to see for fishing, boating, hunting, and camping enthusiasts. The show includes seminars and guest speakers, and a highlight of the 2019 show was the appearance of world champions in elk calling and fly casting. Next: March 6-8, 2020

8. Vancouver Motorcycle Show

Gearheads and torque lovers come to the Vancouver Motorcycle Show to see the newest makes and models including those from Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Aprilia, Kawasaki, BMW, Honda, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, and Piaggio. About 30,000 people attend the show, which is produced by Power Sport Services and notched its 38th edition in 2019. This year the show featured stunt riders, the Seattle Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt and Drill Team, and a display of vintage Harleys by Vancouver’s Trev Deeley Motorcycles. Next: January 24-26, 2020

9. Vancouver International Boat Show

Despite a cold front with high winds and a rare snowfall in downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver International Boat Show attendance was 28,764 for the 2019 show, even with the previous year. The show is held in two locations, BC Place and a floating show at Granville Island. Visitors expressed interest in products such as canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, bowriders and fishing boats, ski and wakeboard boats, and the luxury yachts and cruiser segments. Owned by the Boating BC Association and produced by Canadian Boat Shows, organizers are hoping for better weather at the 2020 event. Next: February 5-9, 2020

10. Taboo Naughty But Nice Vancouver

Produced and managed by Canwest Productions, the Taboo Naughty but Nice show bills itself as “an upscale adult playground dedicated to enhancing lifestyles, encouraging romance, personal betterment, and all things Taboo.” About 30,000 attendees—all at least 19 years old—enjoy the entertainment, exhibits, shopping, fashion shows, and seminars that are part of the event held at Vancouver Convention Centre East. 11. West Coast Women's Show

West Coast Women’s Show #X Consumer Shows With more than 400 booths and annual attendance of over 20,000, this show at Tradex, Abbotsford, delivers a targeted buying audience of women. This year the event includes fashion, home decor, food, wellness, travel, an artisans marketplace, and a new sustainable living exhibit areas. Next: October 18-20, 2019

12. Vancouver Pet Lover Show

The Vancouver Pet Lover Show, on animal lovers’ calendars since 2013, is produced by Red Sky Marketing. Cats, dogs, rabbits, and birds are just some of the pets featured at the show, which also features raptor shows, dancing dogs, and demonstrations by the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service Teams. In 2019 more than 23,000 people attended to peruse the exhibits and thousands of products on show. Next: February 15-16, 2020

13. Fraser Valley Home & Garden Expo

The Fraser Valley Home & Garden Expo makes its 28th appearance in 2020. The largest home and garden expo in the Fraser Valley is produced by ExpoSure Events and staged at Tradex in Abbotsford. Gardening expert Brian Minter packs the house with his gardening seminars and there are plenty of other exhibitors showing everything from decor and tiles to kitchen and bathroom fixtures. 14. Vancouver Baby & Family Fair

The two-day Vancouver Baby & Family Fair provides a platform to share what’s new in the baby and toddler world. Innovations, new products, hands-on demos, and presentations are on the schedule under the sails in the East Facility Hall A at Canada Place. About 10,000 people (plus free entry to children under 12 years, who are not counted) attend the event, which is organized by Baby & Family Fairs. Next: October 26-27, 2019

15. Luxury and Supercar Weekend

This rain-or-shine event takes place on the rolling lawns at the VanDusen Botanical Garden. With a variety of luxury cars—think Pagani, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bugatti, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Aston Martin, and more—parked on 17 acres of lawn, this event is for the true motoring enthusiast. Produced by the Luxury Alliance Group, the event celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019 and over the years has grown to include lifestyle displays, watches and jewelry, and specialty wine and spirits. 16. Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show

The show, produced by National Event Management and held in the Vancouver Convention Centre, appeals to adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. Its zones include Adventure Travel, Camping, Paddlers Paradise, International Travel, and Health and Wellness. In 2019, there were guest appearances by Edith Beaudoin from Aurora Expeditions, outdoorsman Sam Waddington, and outdoor educator Kelly Pearce. Next: February 29-March 1, 2020

17. Vancouver International Travel Expo

Now in its fourth year, the Vancouver International Travel Expo draws 250 exhibitors that include national and regional tourism organizations from around the world and a range of travel business operators from train, cruise, and hotel and resort sectors. New at this year's expo is the Uganda Tourism Board promoting safaris. The one-day show takes place at the Vancouver Convention Centre West Building. Next: September 28, 2019

18. West Coast Small Home Expo

The show taps into small space living and the tiny-house trend. The show debuted in 2019 with more than a dozen tiny homes on show. The producer, Events Plus Management, anticipates more than 100 booths and an expanded lineup of speakers for the 2020 event at Tradex in Abbotsford. June 6-7, 2020
