Lincoln Park's Meatloaf Bakery has an unexpected take on baked goods. The company's signature items are cupcake-shaped portions of meatloaf frosted with mashed potatoes. The unusual treats come in eight different flavors—including Herby Turkey, No Buns About It Burger (made with burger toppings like cheddar, onions, and pickles), and the vegetarian Yentl Lentl—and when served with a side, each cupcake is filling enough to constitute a full lunch, says bakery owner Cynthia Kallile. (There are meatloaf cakes, too.)
The cupcakes range in price from $7.95 to $9.95 each, and side options include Yukon, garlic, and cheesy mashed potatoes, from $4.25 to $10.95 per serving; mixed salads, which range from $4.95 to $7.95; and even cupcake-shaped portions of macaroni and cheese, at $4.95 each. Kallile can currently provide treats for as many as 100 guests, though she hopes to cater larger events in the future. And though she generally has clients pick up their orders, Kallile can deliver to meeting and event spaces for an extra charge.
