Among nightlife hotshot Rande Gerber's big plans for three new properties this year is a splashy new bar in the newly renovated Sofitel Los Angeles. The 5,000-square-foot Stone Rose Lounge, scheduled to open on May 24, will feature an outdoor patio with a fire pit located just off the hotel's lobby. Shades of burnt orange and red will dominate the decor, which will also feature dark leather, glowing light boxes, stone tables, and rosewood screens. A U-shaped bar will be flanked with plush settees, and a private area hidden behind a red glass bookcase will house red sofas and pony-hair walls.

This year Gerber also plans to open Cherry at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa in Las Vegas and a restaurant and lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel in Madrid (his first European foray).

Following a $2.5 million renovation, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) has reopened the popular Fountain of Rings landmark at Centennial Olympic Park. Daily shows, which kicked off this week, see water spray to heights of over 15 feet, along with more than 250 new LED ring lights offering 360-degree illumination in vibrant colors and patterns, and a sophisticated fog system with over 200 individual fog emitters—all synchronized to a curated playlist of songs from artists with ties to Georgia. In addition to Centennial Olympic Park, GWCCA’s campus includes the Georgia World Congress Center, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Signia by Hilton Atlanta.
