Celadon, which took over the former Yi Cuisine space on West 3rd Street in December 2006, is an inviting, warm, rustic Euro-Asian restaurant and lounge with a richer color palette than Yi, dark wood accents, and red votive candles flickering along the walls. Chef Danny Elmaleh creates exotic small plates that combine Asian flavors with a taste of Europe and the Middle East. White paper lanterns dangle from a canopy that partially covers the courtyard lounge set between the dining room and bar; it’s filled with antique-looking Asian couches and tables and even a suit of armor. Floor-to-ceiling windows separate the three areas, or the glass doors open to make one continuous space. Furniture in the courtyard can be moved to do a sit-down event for 25, or it can be reconfigured for receptions. The dining room holds 120 for a seated event, and the lounge and bar hold 50. The entire space holds 275 for receptions. —Lesley Balla
