To celebrate the Calvin Klein brand across Asia, the iconic American fashion juggernaut hosted a large-scale presentation and party on Saturday in Singapore. The affair boasted a sleek and modern one-of-a-kind architectural installation as its centerpiece, projecting the brand’s design ethos in brick-and-mortar form.
Guests, including Dakota Johnson, Ziyi Zhang, and the brand’s womenswear and menswear creative directors Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli, respectively, toured the unique concept house, designed by Joshua Prince-Ramus. The American architect who, in 2008, created a futuristic concept home entitled “Madison Avenue (Doll) House” that served as the centerpiece of the annual holiday window display featured in the brand’s Madison Avenue store in New York City, was charged with uniting the company’s different labels and product categories under one roof.
The resulting structure was constructed within a hangar on the grounds of the former Kallang Airport—a site decommissioned in 1955 and has since been designated as an architectural landmark. The installation marked the first time a branded event was held in the space and employed technology to engage event guests in the interactive experience.
Calvin Klein Home pieces were featured throughout and there were more 30 live models moving about the voyeuristic house—all clad in key looks from the various fall collections.
Singapore was selected as the location for the event to celebrate the company’s continued global expansion, especially within Asia, and to mark the opening of four new Calvin Klein Collection stores in Southeast Asia this year.
