What I do: My role as president of IMM is to interact with our clients, manage, coach and support our team. While working with our clients, my role has always been to strategically advise best practices that will enhance their organizations and offer cost savings to them. I listen to my team in being proactive in utilizing the most up to date technology to manage our company and our clients.
How I got here: When our youngest went off to college, I was approached by the Baylor College of Medicine to manage medical meetings for various departments. After seven years, I left to start my own independent meeting planning company in 1986, which was rare at that time. Additionally, I became one of the early industry professionals to earn the CMP in 1988.
What I am working on now: IMM is currently reinventing our brand, as we are now IMMwow with a new logo, a new website and new initiatives that are exciting to us and our clients. A new year and a new look after 33 years, IMM stands for Immersive Memorable Moments.
What I do outside of work: I have served on several major hotel brands meetings advisory boards, and I spent 17 years on the board of Greater Houston CVB. Currently I serve on the Associated Luxury Hotels International Industry Advisory Council. In my free time, I am a great cook and enjoy our four great-grandchildren.
