Comfort food has dominated menus for months, and now a restaurant has the d?cor to match: The ironically named NYC looks like a homey kitchen, with red tables, white wainscoting and glass cabinets filled with colorful glass and pottery. Chef Herb Wilson's menu mixes the country feel with some fancy ingredients--appetizers include a caramelized onion and goat cheese tart with onion glaze, and crab pancakes with smoked salmon cr?me fra?che and salmon roe. Meanwhile, the space's amber-toned low lighting keeps it from becoming too much like grandma's kitchen transported to the West Village. --Chad Kaydo
