VENUE: Flamingo Room's Art Deco Posh

The winter weather should inspire some warm, tropics-themed events, and the just-opened Flamingo Room is a good place to start. The Chelsea space was inspired by the Waldorf=Astoria's Flamingo Club of the 40's, featuring Art Deco design spiked with kitschy pink flamingo decor. Curved banquettes line the wall across the bar, and vintage mirrors decorate the pink and gold-detailed walls and columns. An adjacent room has a more formal feel, with restaurant-style tables and chairs along a wall of glass windows. Just steps away is El Flamingo, home of The Donkey Show, making it ideal for a post-performance party. The space can seat 125, or hold 150 for cocktails. —Suzanne Ito
