Columbus Circle is busy today, with the New York chapter of the American Heart Association’s Chefs With Heart benefit at the Mandarin Oriental and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ spring gala performance at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The latter event’s guests will head to the Tent at Lincoln Center in Damrosch Park for a post-performance fete. Roy Braeger is providing event design for Lincoln Center event planner Mary Callaghan. Tomorrow night, the Asia Society benefits from a preview of the International Asian Art Fair. The exposition opens to the public on Friday and continues through Wednesday at the Park Avenue Armory. Friday at the Waldorf=Astoria, Cosmetic Executive Women hold a luncheon to announce this year’s recipients of the organization’s beauty award.

On Saturday, Central Park is the setting for Concern Worldwide’s Concern for Hunger Fun Run/Walk, and Scottish culture takes center stage on the Avenue of the Americas with the Tartan Day parade, the kickoff of Tartan Week, which includes the Scotland Run in Central Park on Sunday. At the Hilton New York, the Inner Circle of City Hall Journalists gather for the Inner Circle Dinner (one of New York's Top 100 Events). In St. Louis, the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Final Four basketball tournament begins, with a second day of competition on Monday. Sunday, Macy’s Flower Show comes to a close, as does the massive New York International Automobile Show at the Javits Center. The New York chapter of the National Television Academy celebrates excellence in regional television programming and production with its New York Emmy awards at the Waldorf.

On Monday, the Fire Safety Education Fund of the New York Fire Department presents the Fire Commissioner’s Humanitarian awards dinner at the Hilton New York, and in Augusta, Georgia, the Masters Tournament of golf begins, continuing through April 10. Advertising and marketing folks gather at Carolines Comedy Club for the Advertising Women of New York’s Good, Bad, and Ugly awards on Tuesday; the event acknowledges positive and creative depictions of women in advertising. Another component of Tartan Week, Scotland magazine’s Icons of Scotland event is at the Waldorf; honorees include actor Alan Cumming.
