More than 800 people attended the Latin Builders Association’s annual Springtime Soiree Saturday night. Traditionally held at the Italianate Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the 25th annual event instead took over the two-acre pool deck of the Icon Brickell hotel.
“Vizcaya has been a venue that’s an icon of the community, but we decided the L.B.A. was going to change with the political and economic atmosphere around us, so we changed our location,” said Andreina Figaroa, special events chair for the association.
Figueroa reached out to Wow Factor Marketing Group to design the "Come Out and Play with L.B.A.” event. In an effort to bring some of Vizcaya’s ambience to the new poolside location, Wow Factor hired six entertainers in 16th-century Venetian garb to mingle with the crowd and pose for pictures. DJ Gimnz and DJ Geeh played two different styles of music, Latin and retro, simultaneously on opposite ends of the deck throughout the night.
Johnnie Walker Black was the event's main sponsor, helming seven bars positioned around the deck. Ronen Bar and Furniture Rental built two 16-foot black acrylic bars branded with oversized Johnnie Walker logos on each. Situated between two of the venue’s three pools, the bars, with an overarching truss system of lights, served as the focal point for the event.
Around midnight, the approximately 100 guests still at the party made their way up to the rooftop lounge Club 50 for the official after-party.
