The 1111 Lincoln Road Event Space began hosting private events and photo shoots in late November. The new outdoor venue is on the seventh floor of a parking garage on the corner of Alton and Lincoln Roads.
Real estate developer Robert Wennett partnered with architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron to design the structure with retail stores on its ground level and six open-air levels of parking.
The 23,000-square-foot event space has views of Biscayne Bay and South Beach and accommodates as many as 500. Though the seventh floor with its 34-foot ceiling is the primary event area, the other floors of the garage can be used for pre-function space or as themed vignettes for large-scale productions.
Due to the design of the garage, the lower floors vary in size from 21,000 to 23,000 square feet and have 10-foot ceilings. Ramps, interior staircases, and elevators provide access to each level of the garage.
