Sam’s restaurant recently opened at the Louis complex in Fan Pier. In an upper-level loft space above the luxury retailer and Salon Mario Russo, Sam’s serves French and American cuisine in a casual, diner-like atmosphere.
The restaurant, named after Louis owner Debbi Greenberg’s daughter Samantha, features indoor and outdoor dining and views of the waterfront and Boston’s skyline. Upon entering, guests walk down a long chalkboard-painted hallway, where they can either write something in neon chalk or read about specials listed on the other end of the chalk wall.
Design elements in the 15-cover dining room include aluminum diner tables, black leather seats and white leather banquettes. Café seating is available at 40 tables on a wraparound deck. There’s also a 15-seat bar with a flat-screen TV. The entire space can host between 75 and 100 guests for private cocktail events, with a capacity for about 50 indoors.
Signature dishes include poached seafood with a light aioli sauce and steak tartare; dinner entrees are served with family-style side dishes. The cocktail menu includes the “Pandora’s Box,” a gin and acai liquor drink.
