Back in January, designer Debi Lilly and her company, A Perfect Event, beat the winter blues by hosting an elegant spring-theme brunch. Intended to preview the upcoming season’s decor and catering trends, the bash—which drew a crowd of Lilly’s industry friends and neighbors—was held at her Chicago event venue, DL Loft.
The brunch had a soft, neutral color palette, with ivory and champagne florals, silvery greens, gold vases, and aqua candles. “The smoky grays of the new ‘neutral’ pastels are such a gorgeous mix with whites and creams,” said Lilly. “We couldn't wait to bring a soft, watercolored take to the Sunday brunch party.”
Lilly worked with a variety of local vendors, including Blue Plate Catering, which created a fresh take on breakfast food with dozens of mini bites. BBJ Linen and the Festive Frog created a tablescape with pale aqua linens and mixed vintage china, while Toni Patisserie and Cafe provided ombré, watercolored cakes and hand-painted cookies.
