BOSTON: Jack Morton has promoted Shelley Elkins to chief creative officer. Elkins was previously senior vice president and executive creative director.

CHICAGO: The Hoxton, Chicago has opened in the Fulton Market District. The hotel has 182 rooms, three dining and drinking venues, and the Apartment, a meeting and event space on the hotel’s mezzanine.

DALLAS: Quest Events has appointed Al Dyess chief executive officer. 

DENVER: The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association will have its P.R.S.M. 2019 National Conference April 29-May 1 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center.  

LAS VEGAS: The ISA International Sign Expo 2019 takes place April 23-26 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The event will draw more than 20,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors.

The 12th annual Grand Poker Series, presented by Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, will take place May 28-July 8 at the Grand Event Center.

Las Vegas-based fitness studio Redemption Fitness will expand with four new locations across the state, as well as locations in Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Santa Fe, and Boise. The company also appointed Ben Litalien chief development officer.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Path to Purchase Summit, a consumer goods industry conference, will take place May 15-17 at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will give the event’s closing keynote.

MONTREAL: C2 Montréal will take place at Grandé Studios, a new venue for the business conference. The eighth edition of the event runs May 22-24.

NEW YORK: Dekalb Market Hall in downtown Brooklyn will host a Game Of Thrones watch party for the season eight premiere on April 14 at the Dekalb Stage. The event, which is free and open to the public, will serve Thrones-inspired cocktails from speakeasy-theme bar Understudy and Fletcher’s BBQ will serve a special menu at its stall. The Hall also will screen episodes every Sunday for the remainder of the season, with food and drink specials. 

The Dead Rabbit bar has opened its new Parlor extension on the second floor. The space can accommodate as many as 30 guests reception style for private events.

The Independent Lodging Congress will hold Indie Cultivate, its first event focused on hospitality start-ups, on July 9 at the Standard High Line hotel. 

The Marian B. and Jacob K. Javits Foundation and the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation have announced the second year of the Javits Juniors Scholarship Program, which aims to support the higher education of local high school students and encourage them to find ways to improve their community through public service and innovative thinking. Supported by Emerald Expositions, Informa, and Reed Exhibitions, the program has expanded to offer five $5,000 college scholarships to three students and the Urban Assembly School of Design and Construction and two students at the High School of Fashion Industries. The scholarship program is being organized through the Fund for Public Schools, a nonprofit that supports New York’s public schools, and the New York City Department of Education.
