BOSTON: Kimpton Onyx Hotel has partnered with eyewear company Randolph Engineering to open the Sunglass Bar in the hotel lobby. Guests who need sunglasses will be able to borrow pairs from the bar during their stay.
GULF COAST, FLORIDA: Hotel Effie Sandestin is slated to open in May 2020 at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort at Miramar Beach. The hotel will have 250 rooms, food and beverage concepts helmed by chef Hugh Acheson, a rooftop pool, and 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
LOS ANGELES: The Paley Center for Media will host the Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television’s Comedy Legends on November 21 at the Beverly Wilshire. The event will honor Carol Burnett, Norman Lear, Bob Newhart, Carl Reiner, and Lily Tomlin.

NASHVILLE: JW Marriott Nashville has partnered with Sony Music Nashville to launch Soundtrack by JW. The program will offer hotel guests Sony's bluetooth turntable, headphones, and a choice of four vinyl collections curated to include tracks from country artists such as Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash.
NEW YORK: Tribeca Film Institute’s 2019 Fall Benefit will take place October 21 at AMC Lincoln Square. The event will have a screening of Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, followed by a conversation with Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and surprise guests.
The Lexington Hotel has named Frank Caiafa director of food and beverage. Caiafa also will serve as beverage director of the hotel’s cocktail bar, the Stayton Room.

ST. LOUIS: 18 Rails, an event venue from catering company Butler’s Pantry, will open in 2020. The industrial venue will be located in an abandoned former electrical company at City Foundry STL, a $225 million development in Midtown.
TORONTO: The Grow Up Conference & Expo, a cannabis industry convention, will take place September 12-14 at Scotiabank Convention Center in Niagara Falls.
WASHINGTON: The sixth annual All Things Go Fall Classic will take place October 12-13 at Union Market. Chvrches and Melanie Martinez will perform at the festival, which will offer eats from Shake Shack, Arepa Zone, Nando’s, and more.
