BOSTON: To mark the McKim Building’s 125th anniversary, the Boston Public Library will give four couples the opportunity to host their wedding ceremony at the venue in February 2020, for free. Couples can register on the library’s website now through November 15. The winning couples, along with 10 guests, will exchange vows on February 2.

CHICAGO: Pamer House, a Hilton Hotel has appointed Christian Brassfield executive chef. 

Pheasant Run Resort has named Tonya Scott general manager. 

DETROIT: Shinola Hotel has appointed Mark O’Brien general manager. 

LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles Times: "Just in time for Staples Center’s 20th anniversary and the 2019-2020 N.B.A. season, LAVA, the marketing platform that activates real-time data to create engaging experiences during live events, is partnering with the arena for a personalized guest experience for fans attending events. The arena will be the first in Los Angeles to adopt this technology."

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach will complete its six-year, $61 million renovation this fall. The renovation includes the debut of a a new restaurant, Seawell Fish n’ Oyster, and the redesign of the hotel’s four original buildings. The property has 132 rooms and meeting space for groups of as many as 300. 

NAPLES, FLORIDA: LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort has appointed Felicia Wichser director of conference services and catering; Marcy Diaz catering sales manager; and Jane Heffelfinger catering sales manager. 

NEW YORK: The Dominican Women’s Development Center’s 31st Anniversary Gala takes place tonight at the New York Hilton. Amara La Negra will perform at the event. 

The Humane Society of the United States’ “To the Rescue!” New York 10th Anniversary Gala will take place November 15 at Cipriani 42nd Street. The gala will honor Unilever cartoonist and children’s book author Patrick McDonnell and the Alex & Elisabeth Lewyt Charitable Trust. 

The 23rd annual Long Island International Film Expo will take place July 10-16, 2020, at Bellmore Movies.
