Industry News: Instawork's New Partnership, Slow Food Miami’s 'Snail of Approval' Celebration, the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, and More

ATLANTA: The National Black Arts Festival will host its annual Fine Art + Fashion event on March 26 at Flourish. Sponsored by Neiman Marcus, the 14th annual benefit will feature a fashion show, as well as a presentation honoring scholarship and award recipients of African descent.

LAS VEGAS: Hospitality staffing platform Instawork has announced a partnership with StaffMate Online, the first web-based staff scheduling software for event-based businesses. This strategic collaboration will now allow StaffMate customers to fill empty shifts directly from the StaffMate scheduling tool with on-call hospitality professionals on Instawork. 

MIAMI: Slow Food Miami’s “Snail of Approval” Tasting Party will take over the Palms Hotel & Spa on March 12. The event will feature a presentation of the Lifetime Snail Award to a member of the Miami culinary community, as well as cuisine tasting. 

NEW YORK: Dessert Goals, presented by Chase Sapphire, will return for its 10th festival from May 2-3 at Sound River Studios on the Long Island City waterfront. This year's event will feature a Pattern Party theme and more than 20 returning vendors, including Rebecca’s Cake Pops, Baked in Color, Tipsy Scoop, Keki Modern Cakes, Macaron Parlour, Spoonable Spirits, Brooklyn Floss, and Baonanas.

The short film lineup for the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, which will take place April 15-26, was announced on Thursday. It will include 46 world premieres, with Whoopi Goldberg once again curating the animated section of the program.

SAN ANTONIO: A new entertainment venue, Chicken N Pickle, will hold a soft opening in mid-April, with doors officially opening on May 1. The indoor/outdoor venue, which offers nine event spaces, will feature on-site catering, a full-service restaurant, rooftop bar, lawn games, 11 pickleball courts, two bocce ball courts, four shuffleboard courts, and more. 

WASHINGTON: Taking place at the Hamilton Hotel, Glamour editor in chief Samantha Barry and Valerie Jarrett, a former senior adviser to President Barack Obama, will lead a discussion on women's leadership. The program will coincide with the property's new suffrage-theme suite, as well as the unveiling of the “First Amendment Freedoms: Women Win the Vote" exhibits featured at the Reagan National and Dulles International airports.
