US: An AR-Driven Virtual Events Platform, Brooklyn's Drive-In Festival, the Virtual Glide Legacy Gala, and More

NATIONAL: Shiraz Creative has launched an immersive virtual event and marketing platform called Attnd.live. The storytelling platform uses augmented reality to turn virtual or hybrid events into 3D, interactive experiences; it also offers built-in engagement tools, interactive dashboards to marketing analytics, fully-branded microsites, and more. 

Ron Walden has been named global executive sponsor for race at Reed Exhibitions. Walden, who also serves as group vice president of strategic partnerships and activation for Reed Exhibitions USA, will advise the company on issues of race and ethnicity—such as recommending where to target charitable donations, setting targets for ethnic minority representation, working with recruitment agencies, and driving mentoring and sponsorship.

NEW YORK: Rooftop Films, in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, presented its first weekend of the new Brooklyn Drive-In festival on the pier of the Brooklyn Army Terminal on July 17 and 18. The festival plans to run through October, with more screenings and locations to be announced soon.

SAN FRANCISCO: The Glide Legacy Committee will host its first-ever virtual gathering, the Glide Legacy Gala, on Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. The 11th annual gala will offer an award ceremony, a panel discussion, a Q&A, and a digital DJ dance party. Glide is a social service provider challenging injustice with the poor, people of color, LGBTQIA+ persons, and others facing oppression, isolation, and stigma. All of the event's proceeds will help support their work in the community. 

SAVANNAH, GA: Xavier Etcheberrigaray has been named general manager at The Kimpton Brice Hotel. In his new role, Etcheberrigaray will oversee operations including hiring decisions, guest services, budgets, and the hotel’s service experience. The historic boutique property offers 145 rooms inside a former Coca-Cola bottling plant.
