LONDON, ONT.: The Country Music Association of Ontario is hosting the 8th Annual CMAOntario Awards as a drive-in event on Oct. 4 in London. The show, hosted by Jason McCoy, is set to take place at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new location.
MONTREAL: The Diving Bell Social Club is reopening on Sept. 12 after a six-month closure. Aside from standard social distancing and mask-wearing measures, the small music venue, located on the third floor of the Barbossa, is implementing strict infection prevention measures such as contactless payment for drinks, pre-sale tickets, and capacity limits.
TORONTO: El Mocambo, a 10,000-square-foot historic venue, is reopening for live events on Sept. 10, beginning with a performance by Big Wreck. Tickets to the livestreamed event will be available for purchase as well. The venue is now also accepting bookings for weddings and private events.
VANCOUVER: The Trump International Hotel Vancouver has announced it will be closing for good. The 63-story tower, made up of hotel rooms and condominiums, previously closed for unknown reasons not related to COVID-19.
The 18th Annual Renfrew Ravine Music Festival will be held Sept. 1-27 with the theme “Constellations and Transformation.” The festival, which celebrates the full moon and diverse cultural traditions, will offer a parade, a lantern installation workshop, a finale event, and more. All in-person events will require pre-registration and will also be viewable online via livestream.
