CANADA: Igloofest 2021 Goes Virtual, The Festival of Trees Vancouver 2020 Update, and More

NATIONAL: Around the Bay (ATB), the oldest running race in North America, is going virtual for 2021. The event will have a monthlong window for participants to run, starting March 25 and going until April 25. Registration will start in early January.

MONTREAL: Montreal's annual winter electronic music festival, Igloofest, will be virtual in 2021. As of now, no lineup has been announced. Igloofest 2021 marks the festival's 15th anniversary, for which organizers have billed the event as "the coldest virtual electronic music festival in the world." 

TORONTO: The Toronto Polar Bear Club's annual polar bear dip in-person event, which supports Boost Child and Youth Advocacy Centre to prevent child abuse and violence, is canceled for 2021 due to the pandemic. The challenge is being moved online, and participants are being asked on Jan. 1 to post a video of their dip, tag @TOPolarBearClub on Twitter, and hashtag their post with #dip4boost. 

Allied Music Centre is a seven-floor development being built by Massey Hall. The center will include a new live music club that holds 500, a smaller music venue designed for students and emerging artists, a lounge, and an intimate performance space in the basement. 

VANCOUVER: The Festival of Trees Vancouver 2020 is being hosted by the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from Dec. 8 to Jan. 3. Trees on display are decorated by some of Vancouver's top organizations, and proceeds go to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
