US: Tennessee Venues Pledge to Bring Back Live Events, The Black Women Talk Tech Conference, and More

AUSTIN: Haute Companies has acquired Los Angeles-based EventWorks with the goal of increasing its global footprint across areas of experiential, events, media, and marketing technology. As part of the acquisition, EventWorks president Alisa Walsh will step into dual positions as CEO of Haute Rock Creative and CEO of EventWorks, alongside former head Ted Bowers.

DENVER: Tyler, The Creator is hosting Stay Home Silent Disco 2 on Jan. 8 from 9-10:30 p.m. The free event will livestream beats via Twitch courtesy of MT Sinistarr, Erin Stereo, and Boyhollow. Guests are encouraged to RSVP via Stay Home Silent Disco’s Facebook page and dance along from their living rooms to help raise funds for three Colorado-based nonprofits that support local musicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

LOS ANGELES: The beLeaf Retreat is a two-day virtual experience taking place Jan. 9-10 to inspire and support individuals and their families to move towards a plant-based lifestyle. The weekend will be filled with the tools necessary to transition to a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle through workshops and discussions surrounding topics of health and food, environmental impact, animal empathy, and more.

NASHVILLE: The Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Area announced the launch of the Tennessee Venue Pledge, designed to unite entertainment professionals and venues of all types state-wide with the purpose of producing live events in the safest manner possible. Many individuals, groups, and venues have already made the pledge, with more anticipated to follow suit, in order to fully open and operate with enforced cleanliness and the highest safety standards. 

NEW YORK: The Black Women Talk Tech conference is slated to take place Feb. 27-29 at the Penn Plaza Pavilion. The immersive three-day event was designed by Black women founders for Black women founders and will feature keynote speakers, sessions on how to practice self-care, ways to find balance between personal and professional life, and more. Other offerings include yoga sessions and networking events focused on building community, culture, and connections.
