MONTREAL: Hotel Nelligan in Old Montreal is hosting a private dining experience amidst new COVID-19-related mandates to allow guests to continue to dine safely from its on-site restaurant, Verses Bistro. The three-hour experience starts at $195 and includes a three-course meal and one alcoholic beverage per person.
QUEBEC CITY: Quebec Table Gourmande is returning for its third edition and running now through Feb. 3 to bring unique, high-quality meals from over 50 participating restaurants to guests’ homes. Meal pickup is available weekly on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and both menus and restaurants are subject to change.
Quebec Winter Carnival is returning for the 67th year Feb. 5-14 in a different format due to COVID-19. Instead of live activities and night parades, guests will be able to enjoy over 100 ice and snow sculptures scattered throughout the city in honor of Bonhomme’s Palace, plus virtual programming and digital games that will be livestreamed via Quebec Winter Carnival’s YouTube channel.
TORONTO: The Bentway Skate Trail has returned and preregistration is now available starting Jan. 24-31. Due to citywide COVID-19 restrictions, six time slots will be available every day, each with a 25-person maximum capacity. Admission is free and masks will be mandatory both on and off the ice.
VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Housing Authority has purchased the Howard Johnson Hotel on Vancouver Mall Drive with plans to convert it into a continuous-stay homeless shelter. The increased efforts to provide members of the community with safe shelter and private restrooms comes along with the onset of the global pandemic. The hotel will continue to operate as usual until the sale officially closes in February.
