CALGARY: The Calgary Public Library is currently boasting a robust itinerary of online programs to celebrate Black History Month, including discussions on Black Canadians’ mental health and the Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture, taking place Feb. 26-27. For the entirety of the month, the library’s website is also highlighting videos of Black Albertans throughout history, such as the stories of Violet King and Oliver Bowen.

MONTREAL: Quebecor Sports and Entertainment has announced the acquisition of French-language record company Audiogram. Since it was founded in 1984, Audiogram has been integral in bringing some of Quebec’s most well-known artists to the music scene. Quebecor Sports and Entertainment aims to preserve Audiogram’s artistry throughout the acquisition.

TORONTO: Wavelength Winter Festival, a celebration of Toronto's indie music scene, is going virtual from Feb. 20-21 and Feb. 26-27. Four shows, each showcasing mostly Black Canadian artists including Backxwash and Beverly Glenn-Copeland, will be livestreamed through a partnership with Harbourfront Centre's Kuumba festival.

The Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Toronto International Airport will be undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation that will optimize guest experience with reimagined public spaces and enhanced food and beverage options. The renovation is scheduled to be complete by April 2022.

VANCOUVER: The 2021 Vancouver Island MusicFest has been canceled due to COVID-19 for the second year in a row. An online festival will take place instead from July 9-11, the same weekend the live event was scheduled to occur.
