CANADA: Celebrate Toronto, the Vancouver Dance Festival, the Women’s Entrepreneur Conference and More

NATIONAL: The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, Sept. 19. The ceremony will air live at 5 p.m. PT on the CBS Television Network as well as on Paramount+. A venue or host has not yet been announced.

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO: On March 9, the City of Mississauga’s Economic Development Office is hosting a virtual Women’s Entrepreneur Conference in partnership with the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. The event's theme is "Reinventing in Times of Change"; it is part of the Government of Canada’s 2020-2021 Bridges to Better Business series of events.

TORONTO: Celebrate Toronto will take place virtually on March 6 and 7 to celebrate Toronto's 187th anniversary. The event will run until April 7, and highlight Toronto’s small businesses and artists. The theme this year will be to “rebuild, reconnect and show love.”

VANCOUVER: The Vancouver International Dance Festival will take place virtually from March 9 to June 14. The event will feature 18 live contemporary dance performances from the KW Production Studio in downtown Vancouver, and all shows will be free (with donations welcomed).

The city of Vancouver has acquired the Days Inn on Kingsway to aid in housing the homeless. In the coming months, the hotel will undergo renovations to create 65 supportive units for people who are currently homeless or in shelters. This project was funded by the federal government’s Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) grant of $51.5 million to the City of Vancouver, which was announced in October 2020.
