US: TED Partners With Clubhouse, Shindig Adds Virtual Lobby, Bastille Day Celebrations and More

NATIONAL: TED has partnered with Clubhouse to bring speakers into the drop-in audio app. The first show, Thank Your Ass Off, launched July 12 with author A.J. Jacobs, who was joined by Clubhouse creator Mir Harris; the pair invited Clubhouse members to join the conversation about unsung heroes. More TED speakers and shows participating in the partnership will be announced at a later date.

Shindig recently debuted its virtual lobby functionality, which allows guests to mingle, network and conduct private business on the platform. The technology is designed for both virtual and hybrid events, allowing free-form interactions like those at an in-person event, where attendees can see who is talking to whom and who is free for a conversation.

BOSTON: The Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge is undergoing a property-wide renovation, slated to debut this fall. The 479-room hotel will see updates to its entrance and lobby, as well as an overhaul of its 25,000 square feet of event space. New additions will include a dining outlet, a market, a fitness center and a series of tech-forward upgrades.

LOS ANGELES: Bastille Day will be celebrated on July 14 at the Beverly Center. The festivities will include dance performances, live sketches, games, and special holiday food and beverages. Guests can also whisper the words "Bastille Day" at the concierge desk to get more offers and surprises.

NEW YORK: Sequence Events has promoted Erin Rynn to chief operating officer. Rynn previously served as director of projects and dynamics for seven years, and she will oversee business operations and provide leadership and strategic vision in her new role with the company. Sequence Events caters to in-person, hybrid and virtual events.
