NATIONAL: The CIBC Run for the Cure went virtual this year to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. The event took place this past Sunday and saw more than 20,000 participants from across the country completing a 1K or 5K walk or run. More than $9 million was raised, and donations are still being accepted. Those who missed the event can broadcast it from YouTube or Facebook.

MONTREAL: C2 Montreal has announced further details on the programming for the year’s hybrid edition, taking place Oct. 19-21 both in person and on an all-new digital event platform, C2Agora. Speakers will include senior leaders from brands like TikTok, Facebook, Amazon and Cirque du Soleil, alongside celebrities like Lindsey Vonn and Mindy Kaling.
TORONTO: The 15th edition of Toronto’s Luminato Festival runs from Oct. 13-17. The international celebration of arts and culture will feature five days of art, music, dance and theater; this year’s event will travel through various neighborhoods in the city, bringing a mix of live and online events celebrating local culture creators.
VANCOUVER: The Burnaby Village Museum is transforming its space into a Halloween illusion experience this season. Eerie Illusions is an experience for all ages that uses lighting production, soundscapes and special effects along a self-guided walking tour through the 10-acre property. The experience takes 45-65 minutes to complete; there will also be on-site food trucks and a cafe. The event runs from Oct. 22-31.
