NATIONAL: Clarion Events North America has announced its first-ever chief marketing officer to further support all customer-centricity initiatives. The company is elevating former executive vice president Liz Irving, who has been with the company since 2016, to this newly created position, where she will focus on further driving customer initiatives, product innovation and technology enablement.
TORONTO: The Toronto International Film Festival will return in person from Sept. 8-18. In addition to screenings, the 47th edition of the event, which follows two years of digital-first events, is expected to include an opening-night party, an industry conference and various dinners, networking events, press conferences and award galas.
The TD Salsa on St. Clair Street Festival will take place June 1 to July 31. The celebration of Latin culture will be held in various venues across the city, with highlights including art events, dance parties, live music and special events at local restaurants. The main event, a street festival on St. Clair Avenue West, will be held July 9-10.
VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Gem & Mineral Show is taking over the PNE Forum from March 25-27. The gathering, billed as Western Canada’s largest gem show, will feature more than 100 vendors selling crystals, fossils, wearable art and more. Tickets start at $8.
The Terminal City Tabletop Convention, Vancouver’s largest tabletop gaming convention, is taking place virtually from March 26-27. The free event will feature board games, RPGs, a Twitch stream, a silent auction and more.
