NATIONAL: Clarion Events North America has announced its first-ever chief marketing officer to further support all customer-centricity initiatives. The company is elevating former executive vice president Liz Irving, who has been with the company since 2016, to this newly created position, where she will focus on further driving customer initiatives, product innovation and technology enablement.

AUSTIN: SXSW’s 2022 Conference is taking place March 11-20 as a hybrid event in partnership with AI-powered technology platform Grip. This year’s conference will be the first to have live programming since 2019 and aims to connect like-minded people around the world—from start-up founders to established industry leaders.

CHICAGO: "Princess Diana Exhibition: Accredited Access," the first-ever walk-thru documentary, has extended its programming through March due to popular demand. Weekly, from Wednesday to Sunday, ticketed guests are welcome to experience the late princess’s life, from her iconic fashion to her emotions through motherhood and experience as a member of the royal family. There are 50 untold stories of Princess Diana, plus 145 images and murals.

LAS VEGAS: MGM Resorts International and BetMGM have announced a new initiative surrounding responsible gaming. MGM Resorts’ casino floors now feature a variety of slot machines with QR codes that offer access to responsible gaming information and educational materials from GameSense. MGM Resorts also recently added GameSense signage displayed in prominent areas and has trained more than 180 GameSense advisors to staff MGM casinos.

WASHINGTON, DC: Destination management company Beyond Times Square will launch its Cherry Blossom Festival Limo Pedicab Tour this spring. During the three-hour, customizable tour, guests will be chauffeured around the city in a private limo coach pedicab, taking in both the National Mall and the Tidal Basin. An expert tour guide will give a history of the cherry blossoms, as well as D.C.’s most famous memorials, monuments and other points of interest.
