GLOBAL: Stranger Things has released a new season after taking a three-year break following season three. To promote season four, Netflix took to different landmarks around the world to broadcast the Stranger Things logo, plus other elements from the show—including characters and music—onto the buildings' facades. Most notably, Netflix lit up the top of the Empire State Building in New York City in a glowing red color, with the logo projected below. Similar promotions took place on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia; at the Gateway of India in Mumbai, India; at the Kuala Lumpur Tower in Menara Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and more.
PEMBROKE, ON.: The Pembroke Pride Festival will be held June 3-4 with a themed walk kicking off programming on June 3 at 6 p.m. at Algonquin College. Then, a Pride festival will take place June 4 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Downtown Pembroke. To celebrate, Thai Gardens will be serving up rainbow boba for the duration of the festival. Other activities include face painting, drag shows, and an obstacle course.
TORONTO: The Beaches International Jazz Festival returns as an IRL event for its 34th year July 2-24. Admission to the festival is free, allowing anyone and everyone to enjoy the month-long celebration, which will kick off with Salsa on the Beach July 2-3 in Woodbine Park. The Beaches will conclude back at Woodbine Park with the return of Groovin’ in the Park July 22-23 and a showcase of Toronto’s Funk, Soul, and House music scene on July 24.
VANCOUVER: The Versante Hotel has debuted a 2,275 square foot, two-bedroom suite with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room, plus a walk-out balcony with both mountain and city views. Coined the Versante Suite, it was designed by local interior design firm CHIL Interior Design. Hotel guests who book the suite have exclusive access to room service and private dining experiences courtesy of Club Versante and executive chef William Lew.
