US: A Bridgerton Experience Popping Up Across America, an Art-Meets-Hollywood Exhibit, the Screening Premiere for FX's The Bear, and More

NATIONAL: The Queen’s: Ball: A Bridgerton Experience is taking over The Pullman Yards in Atlanta now through Sept. 11 following stints in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Chicago. Additional locations of the immersive experience are also currently underway in San Francisco and Montreal. Here, guests are invited to participate in a 90-minute Bridgerton-inspired experience based on the ultra-popular Netflix show set in the Renaissance era. Expect to interact with cast members—including Queen Charlotte—watch a love story unfold, learn dances from the time period, and more. Tickets are available for purchase online, and attendees must be 16 or older.

BOCA RATON, FLA.: Beginning now through Aug. 21, an exhibition titled Bonnie Lautenberg: Art Meets Hollywood is being shown at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. The exhibit serves as the museum premiere of Lautenberg’s most recent series of digital collages. The works consist of 28 diptychs where she pairs famous scenes from movies with famous art masterpieces from the same year. Different movie scenes and works of art range from 1928-2020. Examples include her comparison of the 1957 movie Funny Face and Clifford Still’s painting PH971

LOS ANGELES: Experiential marketing firm Coffee ‘n Clothes partnered with FX to create a screening premiere and launch event for the network's newest original series, The Bear, at the end of June. The event took place at Braindead Studios on Fairfax and featured classic mementoes characteristic of the show, including a Chicago-inspired menu and a recreated Original Beef sign. The menu and drinks were curated by chef Courtney Storer, the chef from Jon + Vinny’s, and featured Italian beef sandwiches, vegan Chicago-style hot dogs, fresh donuts, and more. Additionally, branded merchandise was available for purchase to promote the show. 

ORLANDO: The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has announced the retirement of the chairman of the board of directors, Jim Pugh, following a 19-year term. Ed Timberlake will take over Pugh’s role for a two-year term and has appointed Sibille Pritchard as his vice chair. To celebrate Pugh’s last board meeting, Neal Dempsey announced a $1 million donation to honor Pugh’s legacy, and Irving Matthews also announced a $1.2 million donation to go toward the art center’s phase two construction. 

SAN ANTONIO: The Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk has completed a $38 million renovation to its 602 guest rooms and 28 suites in recognition of its 40th anniversary. The renovation project was conducted by Canco Construction—a minority-owned, San Antonio-based contractor—and was designed by national design firm DLR Group and further supported by Lombardi Construction. Renovation updates include floor-to-ceiling windows, an open floor plan, new amenities, and luxury bathrooms.
