Matcha Cita, a matcha-focused cafe, opened its second location in River North on Oct. 7. Following a popular pop-up in Lincoln Park in 2021, Matcha Cita opened its first permanent location in April in the West Loop. The second permanent location is located within Studio Three at 648 N. Clark St. This space boasts indoor seating for 12 guests and will offer a sidewalk patio during the warmer months. The decor, like the West Loop location, follows a bright geometric and retro theme. The space aims to be Instagrammable with both its products and its atmosphere, so vivid accent pieces such as neon signs, greenery, and floral-decorated swings are featured throughout.
MIAMI: The 10th anniversary of the South Beach Seafood Festival is in full swing this weekend, Oct. 19-22. Thursday night welcomes Crabs, Slabs and Cabs to official festival host hotel Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel, where five chefs will join culinary forces to produce an internationally inspired surf, turf, and wine-paired feast. Friday night brings seafood enthusiasts to the VIP Hospitality Village in Lummus Park for an interactive, 10-battle Chef Showdown where attendees judge–and indulge in–everything from oysters and lobster to ceviche and sushi. Saturday marks the main event: a four-block, seven-hour beachfront tasting festival featuring Miami’s best seafood restaurants as pop-up cafés, bottomless premium cocktails, live music, and a slew of sponsored lounges on the sand. Tickets for general admission start at $55 and include an all-day open bar for over-21 guests.
