US: A Halloween Ball in Atlantic City, The Fontainebleau Miami Announces Construction for a New Events Center, Day of the Dead Celebrations, and More

GLOBAL: England-based software platform gther—which allows planners to create engaging, on-brand, and sustainable in-person, hybrid, or virtual events—has announced new leadership. Peter Jeavons has joined the company as CEO and has been tasked with using his 30-plus years of experience in technology to lead gthr’s business globally. Meanwhile, Nick Rosier has been announced as gther’s new chief product and customer officer after serving in tech-forward roles in Japan, Australia, Europe, and the UK. Together, Jeavone and Rosier will launch several innovative products and technologies for event planners around the world.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.: Ocean Casino Resort is hosting The Halloween Ball on Oct. 29 in the hotel’s Ovation Hall. The event—which is the largest of its kind in Atlantic City—kicks off at 10 p.m. and guests are encouraged to dress to impress. Attendees can expect live performances throughout the night by London-based, platinum-selling DJ and producer Joel Correy. Guests must be at least 21 to attend and a general admission ticket is $39.99.

KEY WEST, FLA.: Margaritaville Beach House Key West has introduced a new all-day menu at Tin Cup Chalice Bar & Chill, the resort’s signature, full-service restaurant. Helmed by executive chef Carlos Sanchez, the menu features a variety of elevated Caribbean dishes, including papas bravas, conch fritters, and angus skirt steak, plus favorites like fish tacos, a crispy chicken sandwich, and a local catch. A specialty drink menu also showcases a collection of island libations alongside namesake margaritas and a beer and wine list. The Tin Cup Chalice Bar & Chill is open daily for indoor and outdoor dining from 11:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m.

MIAMI: The Fontainebleau Miami Beach has announced the construction of a new 50,000-square-foot luxury events center. It’s scheduled to open in Q1 of 2025 and seeks to meet the needs of the growing Miami market for business and leisure events. The events center will be located adjacent to the Fontainebleau and can be accessed via a sky bridge. There will be two dividable ballrooms, 10 breakout rooms, and a 9,000-square-foot rooftop deck on top of the hotel’s existing 200,000 square feet of gathering space.

SAN ANTONIO: On Oct. 27, Omni La Mansion del Rio is inviting Texans to downtown San Antonio to celebrate Dia de Muertos (“the Day of the Dead”). Beginning at 5:30 p.m., patrons will be taken to the hotel’s Four Brothers Courtyard to enjoy delicious food, mariachis, face painting, and a silent auction before choosing to either head to Ostra or stay at Four Brothers for a three-course meal. During dinner, guests seated at riverside tables will be able to view a themed parade. Tickets are available via Eventbrite and range from $25-$118.80.
