US: Kimpton Hotel Fontenot to Open Brasserie, Visit Seattle Welcomes New Faces, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and More

GLOBAL: Six Senses Rome will open its doors in the historical Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini on March 16. This marks the brand's first urban hotel in Italy. The property will feature 96 guest rooms and suites, with some featuring the iconic Triclinium-style marble seating on their terraces, and a Six Senses Spa. BIVIUM will offer all-day dining, and NOTOS Rooftop will transport guests high above the hustle and bustle. Menus are set to feature a Roman Empire-inspired, five-course tasting menu with Sicilian touches to honor the executive chef’s home favorites.

Noble House Hotels & Resorts—the family-owned boutique hotel brand with a carefully curated collection of 25 hotels, resorts, and experiences across North America—has partnered with Green Seal to continue its sustainability efforts. Over the course of the next few months, 13 of Noble House's properties across North America will join an exclusive list of hotels to earn Green Seal's Standard for Hotel and Lodging Properties (GS-33) following an extensive review and on-site visit. 

NEW ORLEANS: Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, located in New Orleans’ Central Business District, has announced that the opening of its three-meal French brasserie, King, is set for March 30. The new restaurant is part of the hotel’s expansion into the historic building next door, which will also include more than 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting, wedding, and event space as well as 33 new guest rooms and suites. King will be rooted in the style of beloved brasseries of the French Riviera region, while weaving in rich culinary traditions of New Orleans.

SEATTLE: Two new faces have joined the Visit Seattle team. Chris Connelly joins as the senior director of sales, where he will oversee the day-to-day activities of the convention sales team. Most recently, he was the area director of group and transient sales at Hyatt’s three downtown Seattle locations: the Hyatt Regency, the Grand Hyatt, and Hyatt Olive 8. And Jared Dionne joins the team as the public relations manager for meetings and conventions press. He was previously the senior director of publicity at London-based record label Mute.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The National Cherry Blossom Festival invites Washington, D.C. area residents and visitors of all ages to welcome spring’s arrival at its signature Opening Ceremony at the historic Warner Theatre on March 25, from 5-6:30 p.m. The event will showcase Japanese arts and culture through one-time-only performances by Travis Japan and other world-renowned artists. It will also include the official opening of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
