CANADA: Calgary Career Fair and Training Expo, Air Canada's New Lounge, Toronto's Esports Industry, and More

GLOBAL: ASM Global has entered into a partnership with multidisciplinary venue strategist Forward Associates. According to the two organizations, guest experience in stadiums, theaters, and arenas is evolving, and the demand for enhanced live experiences is growing. Through this partnership, ASM Global and Forward Associates hope to elevate the guest experience for all of ASM Global's 165 million customers around the world. 

NATIONAL: The Government of Canada released its new Federal Tourism Growth Strategy on July 4. Titled “Canada 365: Welcoming the world. Every day,” the strategy includes investing in Canada’s tourism assets, embracing recreation and the great outdoors, partnering to grow Indigenous tourism, attracting more international events, and improving coordination through a federal ministerial council. These strategies have also outlined plans to build communities through arts and heritage with an investment of $21 million, provide financial assistance to organizations that present art festivals, fund events that celebrate Canada, assist sports organizations to host the Canada Games, and more. 

CALGARY: The Calgary Career Fair and Training Expo will take place July 19. It will provide attendees the opportunity to meet face to face with Calgary’s hiring companies, government, employment services, colleges and universities, specialists in employment, and more. Admission is free for candidates at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, and the fair will take place from 1-4 p.m.

MONTREAL: Air Canada has opened its brand-new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the airline's 28th lounge worldwide, and its third Maple Leaf Lounge in the U.S. The exclusive respite, located in Terminal 2, features Air Canada's first outdoor lounge terrace, as well as a range of premium amenities, food, and beverages, making the travel experience for eligible customers more comfortable and convenient before their flights to Canada and beyond.

TORONTO: Toronto is leading North America in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the esports industry, according to Esports Canada. The organization will host its first annual meeting in Toronto this summer to increase diversity in the gaming industry as part of the Esports Travel Summit. The summit focuses on the travel side of the esports industry and continues to educate stakeholders in the gaming and tourism industries.
