CANADA: Jurassic Quest in Ontario, The Well's New Restaurants, Parkside Hotel's Holiday Activation, and More

CALGARY: Witness great international cinema, walk red carpets, attend filmmaker Q&As, take in live score performances, and explore the latest in VR and gaming at the 24th Calgary International Film Festival. The 11-day cinematic celebration takes place Sept. 21 to Oct. 1.

OTTAWA: Jurassic Quest will return to Canada for a limited time in Ontario this fall. The interactive exhibit will migrate to Ottawa Nov. 17-19 before heading to London Nov. 24-26, Hamilton Dec. 1-3, and Mississauga Dec. 8-10. In addition to lifelike dinosaurs, Jurassic Quest's experiences include some of the largest ridable dinosaurs in North America, live dinosaur shows, interactive science and art activities (including a fossil dig and real fossils like T. rex teeth, a triceratops horn, and a life-size dino skull), a soft play area for the littlest explorers, bounce houses and inflatable attractions, photo opportunities, and more.

TORONTO: The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto announced the launch of high tea service on weekends. Signatures Restaurant, located within the hotel, has partnered with Metz Luxury Tea, offering guests 14 unique tea blends and delicious treats to pair with them. High Tea with The Empress is offered every Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at $75 per person and includes a variety of black, green, herbal, white, oolong, and rooibos teas. Tea will also include a selection of savory snacks including truffled egg sandwiches, house-baked scones, and an array of sweet treats. 

The Well, a new mixed-use development bordering Front, Spadina, and Wellington, will soon welcome three new chef-driven Oliver & Bonacini restaurants. On the 38th floor of 8 Spadina Ave. will be Aera, a luxuriously appointed steakhouse, sushi counter, cocktail bar, and rooftop terrace. Downstairs facing Wellington Street West, unruffled Southern French fare will roost at La Plume, a two-level brasserie set to open in late November. And coming in winter 2024, The Dorset will bring a taste of the British coastline and countryside to Wellington Street West.

VICTORIA, B.C.: The Parkside Hotel & Spa is bringing a new holiday tradition to Victoria in support of Rainbow Kitchen, a hub for food security programming in Victoria, providing free hot meals and facilitating food sharing to anyone in need. The hotel will open The Parkside Express Festive Tracks of Giving from Nov. 18 to Jan. 2. Its atrium and lobby will be lavishly decked with festive lighting and decor and a sea of poinsettias. Guests and visitors can explore the miniature wonders of a model Christmas train and village. They can also indulge in a candy cane and cup of hot chocolate while wandering the festive grounds.
